We had the good fortune of connecting with Audrey Waldron and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Audrey, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
My kids, my tribe and my inner peace. There are so many reasons for me to be happy, and the biggest one is the life that I lead now with my 3 daughters as a single mom. I also have an amazing tribe, both men and women, whom we support each other daily and encourage one another’s glow ups. We also call each other out on our B.S. and this helps us all know that someone cares about you. My happiness comes mostly from the inside, from the peace that I’ve found, the self-love and self-acceptance, and starting my own company with my 3 little ladies.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Such a great question, I’ve been in the professional world working in different industries. I was approached at the age of 37 after 3 kids, to be a swim wear model, and it took off. I knew getting into it, I didn’t want to do this forever, and as I was making money for other companies, I had the idea to start my own business. How hard can it be right?! LOL The name She Does, lends itself to so many different avenues: She Does Swim, She Does Sport, She Does Style, She Does Sexy… She Does it all. As women, we wear many hats, and sometimes we do it all. Not to say that men do not, but this brand is about women. I do have He Does in the back of my mind. The hardest lesson, is there will be so many people who want to give you their idea of what to do, or what not to do. And, you have to trust your gut. My ex-husband said that The Audrey will never sell, it’s a horrible design. It’s now my number seller, and I’m so glad that I went with my gut. Trust your gut, listen to your intuition, and go for it. You have to start somewhere, and no one wants to start small, but that’s what you gotta do. You will make mistakes, but learn from them quickly and move on.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The Brickell for shopping and the aesthetics for the amazing downtown living vibe. Take a boat ride along the coast and see some of the most amazing multi-million dollar mansions, this is where I visualize myself living one day. And for true artistic vibes and local shops (my favorite) to the art deco district. I love to support other swimwear brands, and I’m a huge fan of Antigua.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I am a part of an amazing mama group called Hey Mama. It’s a tribe or working moms and we talk/email about literally everything. If you’re looking for referrals, insight, employment, you’re launching your new business or just want to connect with other hard working moms, this group is amazing.

How This Bathing Suit Brand Empowers Women Of All Ages

We are influenced by so many things in our daily life, many of which contradict social norms or stereotypical woman characteristics,” said Waldron. “We want children, but we want a meaningful career. We want to feel beautiful, but we want to be strong. Can we have all of our goals, or do we have to choose to be unilateral in achieving our goals? Can we reach our goals professionally and still raise a family with strong moral values? Can we look sexy and feel beautiful without letting physical characteristics define us? I believe we can!
