Graehme

It was obvious at a very young age that Graehme Field had both a love and knack for fashion design. In recognition of this interest, he was enrolled in fashion design and figure drawing courses starting at the age of five. By the time he was seven, Graehme had already learned how to sew thanks to his grandmother’s guidance.

This early interest in fashion launched Field on the path to becoming a high end fashion designer in New York. Even as he was entering into high school, Field was already enrolling in college programs at The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. In his senior year of high school, Field entered a national competition with The Art Institute called, “Passion for Fashion” where he placed first in the regional competition. Thereafter, he went on to place first place nationally, besting hundreds of his peers and winning a full paid scholarship to The Art Institute.

Upon accepting the scholarship to the Art Institute, Field moved to New York City at age 18 and where he would complete his associates degree in Fashion Design. While still a student in New York, Field had the opportunity to be on an MTV reality show with Sean John where he competed against other students in various design challenges which he ultimately won and was awarded an internship with Sean John Sportswear Company. Upon completing the internship and earning his degree at the Art Institute, Field wanted to continue his studies and moved to Italy where he enrolled in The Istituto of Marangoni in Milan where he went on to earn his masters degree in fashion design with a focus on evening wear.

Field went on to design, show and sell several of his own collections; all of which gave him the ability to further his career and settle back into New York after completing his studies abroad. Not soon after moving back to New York city, Field was able to find employment with Marchesa where he quickly excelled through the ranks and played a key role in the production of many high fashion evening wear collections for a span of over four years.

Growing up in a small seaside community on the east coast, Field’s summers were spent sailing on the water followed by ski trips to the mountains in the Winter and his work has always been significantly inspired by nature and a love of travel and the outdoors. Traveling around Europe helped Field to hone his craft and he credits many of his life experiences for influencing who he is as a designer today. The pursuit of unique pursuits, diverse studies, travel and professional experience make Field an incredible asset to She Does’ mission and we could not be more thrilled to have him as our Design Director.
